Happy Sukkot – New Comments Policy

Because of the large number of Anonymous comments I get, which I find very confusing because I don't know who is who, I have decided to limit comments to registered users. I am not actually sure what that means, actually, but I think it is a little broader than just folks with google ids.

Before some start accusing me of a double standard, since I don't use any of my given names, may I add that you don't have to leave your given name, just some name or handle that identifies you. After all, Bacci40 and Y. Ben David, not to mention Child of Abraham, don't use their given names, and I don't think that cramps their style.

Let's see if that works.

I do understand your reasons to blog with a nom de plume ( I'd probably do the same if I were in your shoes ). The reason I use my real name is that I got sick and tired of not being able to express my views freely during the fascist years in my country ( 1926 to 1974; but I was born in 1943 ). Now
( since the "Carnations Revolution, in April 1974 )I always use my real name to make prevail the statute of openess and legality we won since then. You claim your rights by exerting them in practice...
But, of course, anonimyty is something else. Among other things, as you say, it poses the practical problem of knowing who is who...
